Chapter 16: Inheritance Transfer

After disappearing for twenty-four hours, Yin Chang finally called Yao Manhuai at eight o’clock in the evening.

When she saw the incoming caller ID, Yao Manhuai sighed in relief.  Thank god, she thought. To calm herself, she took a deep breath before answering the call and then picked it up. With a neutral tone she asked: “Yin Chang, where are you? Are you alright?”

Yao Manhuai waited patiently for an answer. When the silence continued she opened her mouth to speak, but Yin Chang’s sudden statement stopped her: “I brought him back.”

“What do you mean?” Yao Manhuai remained calm.

Yin Chang elaborated: “I mean that I brought Shao Junling home with me.”

Yao Manhuai clutched her phone tightly, suddenly alarmed: “….You, you…..”

Yin Chang: “Honestly, I’m in a bind here….. Can you come?”

Yao Manhuai: “You wait! I’ll be right there! “

Slamming on the accelerator, Yao Manhuai sped to Huaihe Apartments in a frenzy. The stress she felt over last two days was the most pressure she has ever endured. It was far greater than any she felt over the many years as an agent for Yin Dong.

She parked her car in a rush and ran upstairs anxiously.

When the elevator doors opened, she saw the boy sitting on the sofa eating a burger. It was one thing to read about his tragic past in the news and another to see the child in the flesh.

When Yao Manhuai walked inside, the boy’s cheeks were bulging with a mouthful of food. Clenching his burger tightly, he bowed nervously. On edge, his eyes darted back and forth. His reaction, like a wild animal, was on alert to the sudden change in the environment

Nearby, Yin Chang stood silently observing Yao Manhuai walk inside. He glanced sideway at Shao Junling and watched for his reaction. Soon, Shao Junling looked away uncomfortably.

The awkwardness in the apartment was palpable. Yao Manhuai was very confused: “What’s going on? How were you able to bring him here?”

When Yin Chang recalled what had happened, he found the whole thing quite magical. When he asked Shao Junling if he wanted to come home with him, he knew he was being impulsive.

He assumed, even if Shao Junling had said yes, he wouldn’t be able to take him away from the welfare center immediately because he and Shao Junling weren’t familiar with each other. It never even crossed his mind to think in advance about the details necessary to consider when one lives with another person. Once Shao Junling was with him, what would he need…? Would they even get along…..?

Before he had time to think about it more thoroughly, Shao Junling’s caseworker came over. She happened to have gone outside to find Shao Junling and overheard their conversation. She covered her mouth with her hand in surprise and cried tears of joy. She rushed over to Yin Chang excitedly. She grasped his hand and exclaimed: “I didn’t expect to see you so soon!”

Yin Chang didn’t know how to respond to her at the time. Even so, the woman didn’t give him a chance to speak as she rambled on. With her teary eyes, she apologized for what had happened on the internet and tried to explain to Yin Chang that it was never her intention. She had been misrepresented by Fast Dog Entertainment. She only wanted to see Yin Chang as soon as possible and as a result, she allowed a short press release. She never expected the news to be completely different from what she had imagined. She felt very guilty about the way he and his father were treated. It was a complete misunderstanding.

While packing Shao Junling’s luggage, she told Yin Chang about Shao Junling’s difficult  personality; about his poor ability to express himself and his poor temper and tendency to bite people when he was anxious. If there were any problems, she left her phone number with Yin Chang so he could contact her for help at any time.

Seeing that it was getting late, she hurried them along and brought them to the exit of the Welfare center. Finally, the caseworker told Shao Junling to listen and pay attention to his Brother. Without protest, Shao Junling obediently nodded and followed Yin Chang out.

Before leaving, Yin Chang really thought the whole affair was rather odd. He asked: “Aren’t there protocols to go through first?  A document to sign? Some type of formality?”

The caseworker replied: “No. Your Father had already visited us before and a representative of the agency had negotiated the terms and taken care of everything beforehand. She didn’t tell you?”

Feeling hungry himself and knowing Shao Junling purposely missed his dinner, Yin Chang guessed the boy was probably hungry so he stopped at a fast food place and ordered take-out on his way home. Now that she was in his apartment, Yin Chang asked her about the information she was privy to that he was unaware of.

After listening to his explanation, Yao Manhuai gently poked his forehead with her finger. Feeling both sentimental and thankful, she briefly chuckled: “Heh, really…..” After a deep breath, she slowly told Yin Chang about what had happened during his disappearance.

After the news exploded yesterday, Yao Manhuai called lawyer Wang and the dean of the Welfare Institute. During the tele-conference, they confirmed the facts. Essentially, Yin Dong’s wish was to adopt Shao Junling. It was only because of a moment’s negligence that everyone missed the message and thus, by distorting the facts, the paparazzi were able to take advantage of the situation.

Since Yin Dong was gone, she needed to consult with Attorney Wang on how best to proceed with Shao Junling.

The crux of the problem was that Yin Dong died before he could establish a Father-Son relationship. Legally speaking, neither was Yin Chang Shao Junling’s brother nor could he become his guardian. Moreover, although Yin Chang was eighteen, he didn’t meet the requirements for independent adopters.

The only way was to find an adult with the qualification to adopt Shao Junling and then make arrangements for his custody with Yin Chang. When She investigated the issue more completely, Yao Manhuai realized she was the best candidate to adopt the boy.

After careful consideration, Yao Manhaui called the Welfare Institute and said she wanted to adopt Shao Junling. Although the decision was hasty, she was certain to take full responsibility. In the back of her mind, she could do what Yin Dong had done. That is, interact with Shao Junling for half a year first, then undergo the evaluation by the welfare institute until Shao Junling was able to be adopted. She would do her best to provide a safe environment for his growth and a proper education.

“Since yesterday’s news, the Welfare Institute received many enquiries from people who wanted to adopt Shao Junling. However, his situation was special. The dean told me that Shao Junling only recognized Yin Dong and Yin Chang.”

Yao Manhuai continued her explanation: “In order to appease them, I suggested that I adopt him in name, but if willing, Shao Junling would live with you as Yin Dong’s son and your brother. I would simply be a provider.”

Yao Manhuai looked at Yin Chang and apologized: “I wasn’t sure if you would accept this proposal so I went to the welfare home and told them that you weren’t ready yet to take Shao Junling home.”

Yin Chang finally understood what the caretaker at the welfare center had told him about not expecting him to be there so soon.

Glancing at Shao Junling, Yao Manhuai added: “You don’t have to worry about it. Even if you can’t accept it now, it doesn’t matter because I will be able to take care of him. In order to secure our position and calm the public down, I needed to offer a good plan for the Welfare Institute to accept.”

Presumably, Shao Junling relaxed his guard because he was quietly sitting next to the sofa eating his burger alone.

Yao Manhuai asked Yin Chang: “How about you? Going to the Welfare Institute to meet him….. What were you thinking?”

Yin Chang didn’t know where to begin. Yesterday, when he heard the news, he was very angry as it was the first time to learn of Yin Dong’s son. He didn’t know how to deal with his erratic feelings so he drank instead. Going to the welfare center in the evening was just a whim. Yin Chang also questioned his actions. He didn’t know why it turned out like it had.

He turned to look at Shao Junling  and at the same time, it happened that Shao Junling also looked up at him. When their eyes met, Shao Junling’s reacted subtly and looked away.

It seems, Shao Junling cared about Yin Chang, right? In any case, Yin Chang was completely convinced that Shao Junling was in fact Yin Dong’s son. Thus, he decided he needed to accept his younger brother’s presence in his life.

Yin Chang withdrew his line of site from the boy and looked at Yao Manhuai. He calmly said: “Aunt Yao, I want to leave him Father’s inheritance.”

Yao Manhuai didn’t understand why Yin Chang suddenly announced this idea: “Calm down Yin Chang. There is no definite conclusion about whether or not Shao Junling is your Father’s illegitimate child.”

Yin Chang debated with her: “Aunt Yao, besides my grandparents, have you ever heard Yin Dong mention any other relatives?”

Yao Manhuai hesitated for a moment at his question. Since she was Yin Dong’s agent for so long, she knew full well that apart from Yin Chang, Yin Dong rarely talked about his relatives. Without further investigation, there was nothing else to go by. She shook her head and answered him no.

“That’s just it.” Yin Chang smiled bitterly. Initially, he refused to believe it, but when he saw Shao Junling, he had no choice but to believe it. If he wasn’t Yin Dong’s son, how was it possible to look so similar?

Chapter 15: Come Home with Me

After driving around aimlessly, Yin Chang saw the hotel and checked in directly. Not wanting to see anyone or talk to anyone, he turned off his phone. He simply wanted to be alone.

With a ‘clank’, another empty wine bottle was thrown to the floor by Yin Chang. Dizzy, he fell backward and laid down. Like a mantra, he repeatedly mumbled:

Shao Junling.

Shao…… Jun…… Ling……

Alone in the dark and silent room, he was a little drunk. In his mind, the words his father said before he died echoed in his mind:

“Little Chang, for your eighteenth birthday… I‘m sorry, but Dad won’t be able to visit.”

“In another month, Dad will be back home and I’ll be able to make it up to you, OK?”

“I’m preparing a large gift for you. I guarantee that you will like it.”

After a while, the voice in his mind was that of lawyer Wang’s:

“It is stated in the family registry that you are adopted.”

“Has your father mention the name ‘Shao Junling’ to you some time ago?”

“Yin Dong only had considered adoption with the boy in the name of a father-son relationship……”

……

Ha! If it wasn’t for the news, would he have ever known the truth?

Yin Chang didn’t know when he fell asleep last night as he only remembered the suffering he felt.  Even after waking up and opening his eyes, the room was still dark. Yin Chang groped around him and found his phone. When he checked the time at a glance, it was already the afternoon of the next day.

He turned on the network settings, and what followed was a series of missed calls and unread message prompts, most of which were by Lu Lingxuan. A few were by Yao Manhuai.

Yesterday at 23:45 (11:45pm):

Yao Manhuai: “Yin Chang, first of all, I must apologize to you. What happened yesterday was the result of my negligence and Yang Jiajia’s negligence. I’m sorry that Auntie didn’t protect you well. I can understand your state of mind very well.”

Yao Manhuai: “I already know where you are now, but you can stay there until you feel better. I won’t let anyone disturb you. When you returned to China, you didn’t change your driver’s license to a domestic one. You were caught on camera speeding. Pay more attention to driving safely!”

Today at 07:21 (7:21am):

Yao Manhuai: “At present, we have already contacted the Welfare Institute and have learned the truth. We are considering what truth we need to produce officially so the news to calm the public…. However, regarding Shao Junling’s future, you may need to come forward to discuss his future arrangements.”

……

Yin Chang had a headache. Like an ostrich escaping from reality, he dropped his phone, laid his head back down, closed his eyes, and buried his head. He lay there for nearly an hour before he was able to crawl out of bed. He went to wash his face, brush his teeth then grabbed his car keys. He checked out and headed to the parking lot.

When he got into the car, he sat in the driver’s seat and took a few minutes to pause before he entered the Welfare Institute address in the car’s navigation system. Half an hour later, the navigation voice prompted him that he had arrived at his destination.

In fact, Yin Chang did not think clearly about why he came to this place. Seething with jealously, he begrudgingly brought himself there. He wanted to see for himself just how similar Shao Junling looked like his father.

The Welfare Home was located in the suburbs on the west side of the city. As the facility covered a small area, the building was low-rise with white walls and red tiles and looked very old. Instead of walking directly to the front door, Yin Chang circled half way around and parked his car outside the backside of the welfare center where few people passed.

A chain linked fence surrounded the property and through it, Yin Chang could see a broken basketball hoop in a half court, as well as swings, a slide and other playground equipment. Since it was approaching evening, there weren’t many kids outside on the playground. A few children gathered together in twos and threes to run around and play.

With his hands in his pocket, Yin Chang stood outside the fence and looked at each child one-by-one in an attempt to find Shao Junling. He shouldn’t feel irritated at his failure to spot the child, but he was. Since there were a large number of kids in the orphanage, it would be hard pressed to find him immediately. Shao Junling could be anywhere within the facility.

After a while, a single note of a bell resounded over the din of child’s play in the courtyard. As the children cheered and yelled ‘dinner’, they ran back inside in a swarm.

No one was on the playground.

Yin Chang stood silently watching for a while, and feeling boring, he was about to turn around to leave. Suddenly a child appeared from behind a tree. He looked closer, wanting to see what the child looked like. When he saw Shao Junling, Yin Chang suddenly held his breath and stopped.

The child slowly moved to the sandbox in the corner of the courtyard and squatted down, presumably to play with and dig in the sand.

Watching the small back crouching down, Yin Chang’s mood was extremely complicated. A few minutes later, a few older children came outside. Having noticed the boy at a glance, they walked over to him.

Yin Chang thought they were looking for him to play. Instead, the older boy shouted at him: “Little Mad Dog, why don’t you eat?”

Hearing him being called a strange name, Yin Chang frowned and narrowed his eyes. He recalled the news report stating he had been bullied at the orphanage.

Under the older boy’s provocations, the younger children followed his lead and laughed at him.

“Little mad dog doesn’t eat. He eats sand. Ha-ha-ha!”

“Are you deaf? Why don’t you talk? “

“Hey! You have nothing to say, huh?”

One after another, the children provoked him and when they saw that he didn’t respond, they started pushing him instead.

The boy crouching on the ground jumped up suddenly and growled at them. He stared then down and bared his teeth.

“Wow! Little Mad Dog is going crazy again! “

Several people took a step back in initial fear, but soon ignored the boy’s abnormal behavior.

“Oh, he’s not eating sand, he’s hiding here alone crying!”

“What are you crying for?”

“He’s Daddy is dead. Of course, he’ll cry!”

……

Witnessing the chain of events before him, a fire was ignited in Yin Chang’s heart. He subconsciously clenched his fists.

The boy turned bright red before spitting out a retort: “NO! You lie!”

“It’s not a lie, it’s true!”

“Yeah, he’s dead!”

“It’s on the TV!”

“No!” The boy jumped suddenly and pounced on the boy, and tried to punch him.

“He’s going crazy. Run. Ha-ha-ha……”

A few of the older children laughed and scattered. They made faces at him in the distance and over time, they got bored and started ignoring him, leaving the boy to huddle by himself and repeat over and over again: “No! No!”

Then his small voice got quieter and softer …

That meaningless rebuttal may make people completely unaware of what he wanted to express, but Yin Chang understood it completely. The boy was expressing the long-held feelings of injustice he felt by shouting no. He didn’t want to believe and accept Yin Dong’s death.

One son was inside the fence, one son was outside the fence.

It was only after Yin Chang’s vision was blurred that he reacted to his tear-soaked eyes and wiped them. Feeling embarrassed, Yin Chang turned away and didn’t want to look at the scene anymore. But, just as his hand reached the car-side door, countless thoughts flashed through his mind.

…… You saw it with your own eyes. What kind of life did the child have living in this place? Are you still jealous of him?

…… In the past eighteen years, what kind of life did you have as an adopted son? No matter what the reason was for Yin Dong concealment of this fact, he was not ashamed of you.

…… If Shao Junling really was Yin Dong ’s flesh and blood, do you have the heart to let him stay here and continue to suffer?

…… Yin Chang, Yin Chang. Ah, if you really leave like this, what would be the difference between yourself and those cold-blooded trolls on the internet?

……

For a moment, Yin Chang was subjected to a great amount of conscientious condemnation for preparing to leave. He turned back right after his inner voice demanded attention. Through the fence, he saw the boy standing alone with his head down, and his nose sniffling, as if he was abandoned by the whole world.

Yin Chang couldn’t take the emotional turmoil anymore and in the next second, he grabbed the fence and lifted himself over it. He walked right over to the playground.

Several children, who were playing in the vicinity, were startled by the sudden person going over the fence. They all stared at him in surprise.

Yin Chang walked towards Shao Junling step by step and stopped when he was only a short distance away. As he approached a hushed silence fell, but being immersed in his own grieving Shao Junling hadn’t noticed Yin Chang. Finally, he looked up and discovered him.

Shao Junling instinctively took a small step back because of the difference in height. As if he fell from the sky, he couldn’t believe who the handsome young man was standing before him.

Lowering himself, Yin Chang kneeled on one knee and looked at him straight in the eye: “Shao Junling?”

Because he had drunk last night and was still hangover, his voice was slightly hoarse. The boy may have been scared silly. With red puffy eyes, he continued to stared at Yin Chang without saying a word.

Yin Chang frowned slightly and asked slowly: “Your name is Shao Junling, right?”

Shao Junling nodded slowly.

It was at this distance that Yin Chang could see it clearly. There were indeed scars on his arms and scratches and bruises on Shao Junling’s face. The news really wasn’t exaggerating at all.

Yin Chang tried to make his voice sound a little softer and took on a more cordial attitude. He asked: “Do you know who I am?”

Shao Junling stared at him, opened his mouth and said, “Brother … brother?”

When he heard Shao Junling call him Brother, Yin Chang suddenly relaxed his brow. Even though he still held a grudge, at least his admission proved that Show Junling had been in contact with his father. Deep down, Yin Chang felt comforted.

Yin Chang smiled faintly at Shao Junling and gave him a soft affirmation: “Mnn-Hmm.”

Shao Junling’s face turned red so quickly that he lowered his eyes. Perhaps he was embarrassed to call Yin Chang his brother.

Tentatively, Yin Chang reached out to rub the boys head. Shao Junling didn’t avoid the contact.

“Dad’s gone. I only found out about you yesterday…”  Yin Chang asked somewhat hesitantly, “Would you like to…… come home with me?”

The Perfect Relationship by Xi He Qing Ling

Chapter 14: Yin Chang’s Dissapearance

At the end of her conversation with Yang Jiajia, Yao Manhuai slammed the phone down. Thinking of another person who had potential information, she quickly lifted up the phone to make a call.

As the phone connected, Yao Manhuai asked in a cold tone: “Attorney Wang, I don’t know if you’ve seen the news on the Internet yet….”

“Director Yao, I’m really sorry……”Wang Yan apparently knew of the situation and his voice was full of guilt. I just finished talking with Yin Chang.”

Yao Manhuai frowned: “Why would you be speaking with Yin Chang?”

Wang Yan: “Yin Chang took the initiative to call me first. He asked me about Shao Junling.”

Yao Manhuai: “Do you know Shao Junling?”

Wang Yan: “I know of him, but I haven’t met him. Yin Dong only mentioned him twice.”

Yao Manhuai: “What did he tell you?”

Wang Yan: “This matter also involves Yin Chang’s privacy. Telling you would break client-attorney privilege, but now it’s like this on the Internet and I think you need to know all the facts so you can restore his reputation. However, you can’t go public with the information even though you are in a public relations crisis.”

Yao Manhuai: “Okay, I promise you.”

Wang Yan: “It was around March of this year when Yin Dong called me and he asked me what he needed to do if he wanted to adopt another child.”

“And……” Yao Manhuai immediately got key point and asked: “Was Yin Chang adopted?”

Wang Yan: “Yes, Yin Chang was adopted by Yin Dong when he was one. This matter, Yin Chang was completely unaware of before he met me. Although Yin Dong was wealthy, he was single and wanted to adopt a child. If he wanted to adopt a second child, it is not legally viable. I suggested he raise a second child by sponsoring him financially, but he refused.”

Yao Manhuai wondered: “Why? Was he really his flesh and blood?”

Wang Yan: “I don’t know for sure, but I thought of a way he could use to legally adopt him. The law recognizes blood relations. With a positive paternity test, Yin Dong could claim him as his son and adopt him.

“Yao Manhuai: “How did he answer?”

Wang Yan: “He hesitated for a little while, but then told me, he will find a way.”

Yao Manhuai was stunned: “Find a way……What do you mean?”

Wang Yan: “My guess is, that he may not have a true blood relationship with the child, but he can find a way to forge a paternity testimonial.  It may also be that the child refused to acknowledge him until he had a paternity test done.”

Yao Manhuai: “And then what happened? Did he get it?”

“No.” Wang Yan replied and remained silent for a moment. He continued: “Yin Dong said that the child wasn’t ready yet that he would wait. But, I didn’t hear anything about it afterwards.”

Trembling, Yao Manhuai dropped down in her chair, abruptly sitting.

Attorney Wang’s words very clearly had implications. When she thought of the photograph of the boy that was exposed by Fast Dog Entertainment, Yao Manhuai was cold.

In her past, Yin Dong had refused her, stating that he couldn’t forget Yin Chang’s mother and claimed that he wouldn’t be able love anyone else. As a result, she let him go. But ten years ago, having a child behind her back, how could she swallow the news?

On the phone, Wang Yan continued: “This is all I know about it. My previous conversations with Yin Dong about Shao Junling was less than fifteen minutes total. When Yin Chang called me, I told him the same thing. Although I feel sorry about the ambiguity, I couldn’t make any irresponsible remarks. After the accident, when Yin Chang returned to China, I did ask him briefly if he had heard the name Shao Junling. If he had, I was going to take the necessary adjustment to move forward with his inheritance, but Yin Chang said he had never heard the name. Additionally, it was that night when he first learned he was adopted. He looked shocked and I didn’t want to provoke him any further with uncertain matters. Maybe there wasn’t a follow-up because Yin Dong ultimately wasn’t going to go through with the adoption. Don’t you think?”

Yao Manhuai asked: “So what did Yin Chang do after you finished talking with him?”

“Nothing. He was quite calm over the phone, but I guess, he must feel very upset now. After all, the news is shocking and the bad-mouthing is rather unpleasant.”  Wang Yan sighed then continued: “I’m really sorry. If I had known there would be such a storm today, I would have informed you in advance.”

As she was listening to Attorney Wang, Lu Lingxuan burst through the door suddenly. Sweating heavily and clenching her mobile phone in her hand, she exclaimed: “Director Yao, Yin Chang, Yin Chang… I can’t get in touch with him!”

Neither did Yin Chang respond to texts nor did he respond to phone calls. Lu Lingxuan was afraid that Yin Chang saw the overwhelming abuse on the Internet.

Originally, Lu Lingxuan wanted to go to his apartment in person, but it just so happened that the company’s car was dispatched already. As a result, Lu Lingxuan spent a few minutes waiting at Yao Manguai’s office door. When she vaguely heard they were talking about Yin Chang, she couldn’t help but interrupt them

Hearing Lu Lingxuan’s urgent announcement, without a word, Yao Manhuai grabbed her car keys and said: “Let’s go.”

After speeding to the Huaihe Apartment complex, at the gates the security guards blocked their admittance. The maintenance staff of high-end apartments compounds pay great attention to protecting the privacy of their residents. Since Yin Chang hadn’t updated the list of trusted contacts, neither of them could enter without the permission of the apartment’s owner.

Yao Manhuai worked very hard to explain her relationship with Yin Chang. The property management finally allowed her to sign a security agreement before informing her that Yin Chang had left Huaihe Apartments at about 8:40 in the evening.

“He isn’t at home?” Yao Manhuai froze. “Are you sure !?!?”

The guard defended the staff: “We recognize every head of household here because we see them every day in and out through the surveillance cameras!”

Besides, the plane crash of the former head of the house was big news. The security guards were very impressed with his son, Yin Chang. He also commented: “You can look at the video recording yourself. He drove a black BMW from the underground garage. Isn’t that the car Elder Yin drove before?”

Yao Manhuai was speechless.

However, since Yin Chang had lived abroad from an early age and only lived here for a month, without friends, where could he go? In addition, the time he left his apartment was approximately the same time when Yao Manhuai left Nova Entertainment with Lu Lingxuan. In other words, when  Lu Lingxuan called Yin Chang, he was still here.

Yao Manhuai returned to the car with a somber complexion and commanded Lu Lingxuan to keep calling him.

Surprised, Lu Lingxuan said: “He … He turned it off.” After making five calls in a row, Lu Lingxuan got an automated voice message: “The phone number you have dialed cannot be reached.”

“Send him a text message to ensure that he can see our messages as soon as he turns on his phone.” As she spoke, she searched through her address book and quickly found the person she wanted to contact.

“Chief Jin, this is Yao Manhuai. I’m so sorry to disturb you this late……Yes, I need your help with a little matter. Please, I would like your help in finding a specific vehicle….”

The night was dark and inside the luxury hotel, at the highest room of the building, someone drew the curtains closed. By the bed, Yin Chang sat on the soft chair with his head down, drinking from a bottle of wine alone.

When he saw the news, he felt that the name, Shao Junling, was familiar. Later, when he remembered what the Lawyer had asked him that night when he first returned to China, he immediately had called Attorney Wang to inquire about him.

Listening to the lawyer, Yin Change started to piece together the strange details he found at the apartment when he first arrived.

It turned out that the Transformers sheets in the guest bedroom, the towels and toothbrush in the bathroom, and the large box of Legos near the coffee table in the living room, were all prepared for the child named Shao Junling.

In addition, the books he found in his father’s study on psychological issues in adolescence were used by Yin Dong to get along better with Shao Junling.

Not only that, after he hung up the phone with Lawyer Wang, he rummaged through Yin Dong’s study until he finally found what he was looking for. A file folder in the drawer on the right side of his desk and inside it, there was a copy of Yin Dong genetic testing that proved Shao Junling relation to Yin Dong by blood.

Reading the report, Yin Chang could only surmise that Yin Dong really had an illegitimate child behind his back! He thought, all this time his father wasn’t able to spend time with him growing up was because of work. He tried desperately to be a good son, sensible and understanding of his situation. In the end, he realized he was a complete fool!

Imagining a situation where Yin Dong was in the same apartment with the young child caused Yin Chang to feel flustered and sick. He panicked and wanted to leave immediately.

The author has something to say: 【Vignette】

Chief Jin: “Yao Manhuai, I have asked the traffic officer to check it for you. The car you mentioned was currently located in the Westin hotel parking garage on XXX Road.”

Yao Manhuai: “Okay, thank you very much!

Chief Jin: “However, there are a few points I have to inform you of. According to the monitoring, we found a problem with the car’s speed at the intersection of Hongjing and Linan Road.

Yao Manhuai: “… ?????”

Chief Jin: “Also, he ran a red light at the intersection of Jiangming Road on Fengshan Road…… Although there was no one at that intersection, we saw him drive through even though it was a yellow light.”

Yao Manhuai: “Really, I’m very sorry! He may be in a bad mood…”

Chief Jin: “Even if I his mood isn’t good, he can’t drive like that! It’s not a race car! Next time, I’ll have to pull him over in public and let the traffic police issue a ticket!”

Yao Manhuai: “I know I know! I will definitely give him a stern reminder when I find him!”

***

(PS: Yin Chang wasn’t driving drunk – he only drank after driving to the hotel.)

[Spoilers] The paternity test was forged. Don’t get me wrong.
